Just had my 6-month performance review... got very good feedback from everybody and generally am highly regarded as a useful person, which is very nice. We just got a new "career structure" thingie and we were supposed to get placed on the ladder at this review. For me the choice would be Engineer or Senior Engineer; my group leader thought I was borderline but I managed to convince her (with supporting evidence from a variety of projects) that I should be listed as a senior engineer, so I'm pretty happy. I'm still at the bottom end of being a senior engineer but that's OK by me!
